WELCOME!
Klangwelt (German for “world of sound”) is the musical project of Gerald Arend, a German audio-technician who is mainly working for the multimedia and video games industry. His music is based on the tradition of European electronic music, combining influences of artists as Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream and Yello with a unique blend of rich tone colours and sometimes unpredictable harmonic ideas. Further trademarks are his catchy, minimalistic melodies, grooving rhythms and playful sample gimmicks.
Klangwelt and his music were honored with several German electronic music awards, for example best newcomer and best CD (“Weltweit”) at Schwingungen elections 2002 and best artist at Schallwende elections 2003.

Icy industrial beats (“Cold War Child”) meet Jarre-like sequences (“Futurist”), sparkling piano arpeggios and Mellotron choirs (“Corium”) take turns with Kraftwerk-like vocoder pop (“Information”) or ethereal voice samples from the past (“Muse”): Klangwelt’s fifth album “Here and Why” is an unpredictable and inspiring ride through a diversity of electronic music styles, featuring twelve tracks and nearly 78 minutes of music.
“Here and Why” is available as CD by Spheric Music, as download and stream on all major platforms and as Hi-Res-download and stream in pristine 24 bit resolution from HighResAudio.
